The Diversification of Elderly Care in Japan:

Abstract
The purpose of this research is to clarify how Vocational Education and Training (VET) is provided for care workers, in order to meet the needs of various types of elderly people to want to be cared. In addition, this study reveal the circumstances that the Education curriculum and Textbooks for care workers and leaners have been established.
To achieve this purpose, I conducted a content analysis of the Education curriculum and Textbooks. From this analysis, the following result were obtained:
(1) In the Education curriculum and Textbooks, the idea of “dignity and independence” is regarded as important one.
(2) The idea of “dignity and independence” has introduced and spread in recent years.
